spot on Nathan!

It astonishes me the number of recruiters that just spit out the job description and mould it into a job ad. I think most recruiters forget that it is still an advertisement - something written to attract the best, the most suitable and the most desired candidates to apply - just like a normal product ad compels you to buy their product, or atleast take action.

The rare and carefully crafted job ad not only attracts the highest quality candidates to apply but simultaneously deters the unsuitable candidates by use of key statements and self qualifying phrases.

We're tackling this headon by setting up www.myrecruitmate.com to help recruiters write better job ads that will reduce the junk candidates that end up in their inbox everytime they post a new job.

I also think its time recruiters stepped out of their comfort zone and got a bit more creative with their job titles, descriptions and key words - If i have to read one more job ad looking for a candidate who is "innovative, enthusiastic and motivated" I think I'll smash my monitor!

Come on recruiters - step up and stand out!
